Welcome to the NSW Legislative Council’s new blog. Each sitting week we will post daily, Tuesday to Friday, on the activities of the House and our committees.

If you are one of our loyal House in Review readers, our content will be familiar to you. For our new readers the House in Review provides updates of the business considered in the House and the inquiry activities of Upper House Committees.

As part of the Council’s new social media strategy we have moved House in Review to the WordPress platform. WordPress will assist us to make content more relevant to you, our reader – with links to useful information, new subject tags and search option, more frequent updates, an easier subscription function and, most importantly, a reader-friendly format.

After you subscribe (see the link on the right), you will receive our post at 4pm on Tuesday to Friday of sitting weeks. Tuesday posts will provide updates on the activities of our many busy committees, and posts on Wednesday to Friday will summarise the previous day’s business in the House. During 2018 I will also continue to send a weekly summary email to our original subscription list on Friday afternoons to cater to readers who prefer that format.

We’ll also be posting on topics of interests during non-sitting periods. Look out for posts on Budget Estimates and our easy guide to understanding the NSW electoral process in the next couple of months.

We hope you enjoy the new House in Review format. We’d welcome your feedback on the new format and suggestions for upcoming posts. Look out for our first committee post tomorrow – there has been an explosion of activity in committees this week and our team are looking forward to using this great new platform to share all the news.

Happy reading,

David Blunt
